Apple Unveils Siri AI: A Completely Rebuilt, Privacy-First Assistant Powered by Apple Intelligence
Apple's long-awaited Siri overhaul is here — more conversational, context-aware, and deeply integrated across every device in your ecosystem.

Apple has taken the wraps off Siri AI, a ground-up reimagining of its virtual assistant that is more capable, more conversational, and more deeply woven into its ecosystem than any previous version. Announced on June 8, 2026, the new Siri is powered by Apple Intelligence — the company's framework for on-device and cloud-based AI — and marks the most significant overhaul of the assistant since its launch in 2011.
What's new in Siri AI
The assistant can now tap into a user's personal data — surfacing restaurant recommendations from messages, hotel confirmation numbers from old emails, or photos from a recent trip — without sending that data to Apple. It can answer questions by going to the web in real time, and users can extend almost any response into a natural back-and-forth conversation with follow-up questions.
On iPhone, users can invoke Siri by swiping down from the Dynamic Island. On iPad and Mac, Siri AI is integrated directly into Spotlight. On Apple Vision Pro, it appears as a 3D spatial visualization users can place anywhere in their environment and trigger simply by looking at it and speaking.
Three core pillars of the overhaul
Searches across your messages, emails, photos, and third-party apps to surface exactly what you need, right when you need it.
Fetches up-to-date information from the web on virtually any topic and generates a direct, conversational answer.
Reads and acts on whatever is currently visible on your display — across any app, on any supported Apple device.
A rebuilt architecture with privacy at its core
Siri has been rebuilt from the ground up using the next generation of Apple Foundation Models, running both on-device and via Private Cloud Compute. When Private Cloud Compute handles a request, personal data is not stored or made accessible to Apple or anyone else — and outside experts can verify this privacy promise at any time.
"We're excited to introduce Siri AI, a dramatically more capable and conversational assistant designed to help users find information and get things done throughout the day. With access to broad world knowledge for up-to-date answers on virtually any topic, along with onscreen awareness and personal context understanding, Siri AI can help users take action across apps more naturally than ever."
— Craig Federighi, Apple SVP of Software EngineeringVisual intelligence, writing tools, and a dedicated app
For the first time, Visual Intelligence comes to iPad and Mac, allowing users to search visually, ask questions, and take action on their screen. On iPhone, a new Siri mode in the Camera app lets users tap the shutter button to get information about what's in front of them — including splitting a bill via Apple Cash or getting nutritional insights about food.
Writing gets a major upgrade too. Siri can now draft content from scratch, adapt to a user's personal communication style per recipient, and automatically proofread across the system — including within most third-party apps.
A brand-new dedicated Siri app ties it all together. It uses iCloud to privately sync conversation history across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro, so users can start a conversation on one device and seamlessly continue it on another.

What this means for tech users in India
For India's massive base of iPhone and Mac users, Siri AI brings meaningful upgrades to daily productivity — from smarter dictation in Indian English to writing assistance that mirrors your personal communication style. The Visual Intelligence expansion to iPad and Mac is particularly significant for students and professionals. Apple has confirmed rapid language expansion beyond English, which should bring Hindi and other regional languages into Siri AI in upcoming updates.
